Today, we’re celebrating a very special moment at Port Orchard Parrot Rescue & Sanctuary. Mr. Sally, the charismatic Senegal Parrot, and his lifelong companion, Chuckie the Blue Crown Conure, are spreading their wings and moving into their forever home with the wonderful Cecilia L.
These two remarkable birds have spent all 33 years of their lives together. While they each enjoy their own space — with separate cages to maintain their sense of privacy — their bond is unbreakable. Whether it’s sharing quiet moments or standing side-by-side preening one another, Mr. Sally and Chuckie are the definition of best friends.
Mr. Sally has always been quick to charm everyone he meets, happily leaning in for a head scratch with anyone willing to offer one. Chuckie, a little more reserved, prefers to keep his circle small — but his loyalty to Mr. Sally speaks volumes about the deep friendships parrots can form.
Their time with us was short, but it was filled with joy and affection thanks to all of you who visited, volunteered, and supported them. You’ve helped make their stay a warm and loving experience, and we are forever grateful.

As a volunteer, I loved both Mr. Sally and Chucky, Mr. Sally with his sweet demeanor and the head scritches. He wanted to have and Chucky boisterous demanding his foodies and then calming when he got what he wanted. Such a sweet boy. I wish them so much happiness in their new forever home
