Occasionally our credit card processor will require that we verify the identity of an online customer before they will release funds to us. There are many reasons why this might happen, among them:
- First time buyers making an unusually large purchase
- First time buyers shipping to an address other than their billing address
- Buyers whose telephone area code isn’t located in the same area as their shipping/billing address
When this happens you will receive an email outlining the steps you need to take in order to release the credit hold. We have no option but to comply with the requirements of the credit card issuer, and it is actually in all our best interests to encourage credit processors to help fight identity fraud.
